SLCG End-Of-Year Fundraising Campaign - 2024

Artist in Residence: An Tran, Vietnamese professional classical guitarist based in Chicago, answers questions after his performance at Larimore Elementary School on October 7th, 2024. Larimore Lions Guitar Club performed for An as well. What an amazing experience for these young students!

Give early to our End-Of-Year Fundraising Campaign and SLCG board members will match the first $10k raised in October!

At St. Louis Classical Guitar, our goal is to present the beauty of the classical guitar to diverse audiences, provide exceptional music education, and build a community enriched by the arts. To continue all that we do, we need your support. Our goal for this campaign is to raise $60,000 by December 31, 2024. More immediately, we have a shorter term goal to reach $20,000 by the end of October. And to help us make this more achievable, our board of directors have generously agreed to match the first $10,000 raised in October.

Your tax-deductible donation can help us purchase quality instruments for our students, fund our radio show and community guitar orchestra, produce accessible concert experiences, and develop new outreach initiatives.

Please consider making a donation to SLCG as part of your year-end giving. Your generosity will enable us to continue sharing classical guitar to all corners of our community.

Our Programs

St. Louis Classical Guitar (SLCG), previously known as the St. Louis Classical Guitar Society, is a non-profit arts agency whose mission is to promote positive impact through classical guitar performance and education. Founded in 1963 by students of George C. Krick, SLCG is the third oldest organization in the nation centered around classical guitar. Now in 2024, SLCG seeks to serve the St. Louis community through innovative, high-quality, and relevant programming.

Concert Series

Our Guitar Masters Concert Series brings the greatest guitarists in the world to St. Louis for intimate concerts at Salem United Methodist and the 560 Music Center. Over the years we have hosted artists such as Manuel Barrueco, David Russell, and Julian Bream – and each concert ends with an opportunity to meet the artists.

Inside Classical Guitar

Inside Classical Guitar is SLCG’s weekly Radio Show. Hosted by W Mark Akin and airing on Radio Arts Foundation (107.3 FM) Monday’s at 7pm, the show takes listeners on a journey through the beauty of classical guitar.

Guitar Horizons

At the heart of SLCG’s community impact is our Guitar Horizons Education Program. Focused mainly in North County and St. Louis City, Guitar Horizons provides the resources necessary for building and sustaining a thriving guitar program in local schools.

Community Orchestra

Open to Members interested in performing in a large ensemble, our 25 person Guitar Orchestra rehearses twice monthly and performs several times a year for community events.
