Join St. Louis Classical Guitar for a concert with local classical guitarist W Mark Akin performing with the University City Symphony Orchestra, on Sunday, May 11th 2025. Location and start-time TBA. This concert is part of the Collaborative Concert Series.

Award-winning classical guitarist W. Mark Akin is a Saint Louis-based musician who has engaged audiences across the country with his dynamic on-stage presence and musicality. He has won prizes in numerous competitions including the Artist Presentation Society competition. He teaches at Washington University, is a Teaching Artist with St. Louis Classical guitar, and hosts the radio program “Inside Classical Guitar” on Classic 107.3.

The University City Orchestra (UCSO) celebrates its 64th season in 2024. This vibrant group of musicians has been given the nickname “World’s Most Adventurous Community Orchestra.” The 50 member UCSO, led by conductor and music director Dr. Leon Burke III, is known for player lesser known pieces by well-known composers and great music by lesser known composers.
