Welcome new Executive Director Brian Vaccaro!

It gives us great pleasure to announce the hiring of our new Executive Director Brian Vaccaro. Brian is a St. Louis native with much experience in organizing guitar workshops and clinics, and the administrative details involved. A guitarist himself, he comes with much practical class guitar teaching experience as well. Please welcome him as his assumes this important role!

I am looking forward to building on the great tradition of the organization while forging some new and exciting directions. Brian Vaccaro graduated from Webster University in St. Louis in 1996 with a Bachelor's Degree in Music. He continued his education at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville where he earned a Master's Degree in Music in Guitar Performance in 2000. Since completing his studies, Brian has been active as an educator as well as a performer. His teaching and directorial experience includes Guitar Ensembles, Private Guitar Study, Jazz History, Jazz Ensemble, Rock History, and numerous others at Lindenwood University, Southwestern Illinois College, St. Louis Community College, and St. Charles Community College. In 2010, Brian received the Outstanding Adjunct Faculty award from St. Louis Community College at Meramec. 

Additionally, Brian has had much experience organizing and leading music education and enrichment programs in and around the St. Louis area. These programs have included performances and workshops by guitarists such as Tommy Emmanuel, Christopher Parkening, Douglas Niedt, Tuck Andress, and Larry Coryell among others. Brian was most recently a full time faculty person at Grand Center Arts Academy in St. Louis, MO where he cultivated and led an extensive guitar program. He has also performed and recorded with many of the top musicians in the St. Louis area.
