Our Guitar Horizons Education Program is garnering national attention as a model for community engagement. An article written by our Director of Education was published in the September edition of Soundboard Magazine, a publication of the Guitar Foundation of America. Here is Bill on the importance of the work we do:

"So what is the value of what we do in Guitar Horizons? Not that of developing virtuoso players - although the fundamentals are taught there. But rather that- using a well-designed curriculum taught by committed, competent teachers, with the objective of full student participation culminating in public performance - the results will show in (1) a whole new group of students learning and sharing their love of our instrument, and making expressive music together; and (2) their enhanced motivation, self-esteem, social cooperation and inner strength (grit!) to meet other life challenges. Thus will our community be served." - William Ash
